Privacy Policy
This policy explains what Digital Roam Ink LLC does with personal information when you buy an eSIM data plan, join the member community, or simply read this website.

1. Who we are
Digital Roam Ink LLC (“Digital Roam Ink”, “we”, “us”) is a limited liability company registered in the State of Illinois, with its office at 2200 Lakeshore Drive, Suite 150, Chicago, IL 60614, United States. We are the controller of the personal information described here. You can reach us at support@digitalroamink.com or on +1 312 555 0345.
We sell prepaid international eSIM data plans and operate a membership community. Both activities involve personal information, and they involve different amounts of it, so this policy separates them where the difference matters.
2. What we collect
Information you give us
- Account details — name, email address, country of residence and a password hash. A telephone number only if you choose to add one.
- Order details — which plans you bought, for which markets, and the validity window. Card details are entered directly with our payment processor; we receive a token, the last four digits and the card brand, never the full number.
- Membership profile — anything you choose to publish in the member directory, such as city, role, skills and availability. Every field is optional and can be hidden or deleted by you at any time.
- Support correspondence — the messages you send us, including screenshots and device details you attach.
Information generated by using the service
- Profile and provisioning data — the EID of the device the profile was installed on, the ICCID of the issued profile, its activation state and the plan attached to it. This is what allows us to reissue a profile or diagnose a failed download.
- Aggregate usage volumes — how much data an active profile has consumed against its allowance, and the market it is roaming in. We do not receive the contents of your traffic, the websites you visit or your message contents; that is not visible to us as a reseller of connectivity.
- Website data — IP address, browser and device type, referring page and the pages you view, as described under cookies below.
3. Why we use it, and on what basis
We use personal information to perform the contract you entered into with us: issuing and reissuing eSIM profiles, taking payment, providing support, and giving you access to the member community. We also use it for our legitimate interests in keeping the service secure, preventing fraudulent orders and improving what we publish — always balanced against your interests, and never in a way that would surprise you.
Where we rely on your consent, for example for optional analytics cookies or for the member newsletter, you can withdraw that consent at any time without affecting anything we did beforehand. Some processing is required by law, particularly the identity checks described below and the retention of financial records.
4. Identity checks in certain markets
Several countries apply know-your-customer rules to prepaid mobile connectivity. Where a market requires it, activating a profile there may require you to supply identity documentation, which is then verified either by us or by the local partner network before the profile is permitted to carry traffic.
We collect only what the local rule requires, we tell you on the plan page before you buy that the market imposes such a rule, and we delete verification images as soon as the check has been recorded and any statutory retention period has elapsed. We never use identity documents for marketing, profiling or credit assessment.
5. Cookies and analytics
Strictly necessary cookies keep you signed in, remember your cookie choice and protect forms against cross-site request forgery. These cannot be switched off without breaking the site, and they are set on the basis of our legitimate interest in operating it.
Analytics cookies are optional and only set if you accept them in the notice at the bottom of the page. They tell us which pages are read and where people give up, in aggregate. Your choice is stored locally in your browser, so clearing site data will bring the notice back. We do not run advertising trackers, we do not embed third-party social widgets, and we do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising as those terms are used under Illinois and other US state privacy laws.
6. Sharing and processors
We share personal information only where it is necessary to run the service:
- Mobile network partners and eSIM platform providers, who need the technical identifiers required to issue a profile and to permit roaming on their network.
- Our payment processor, which handles card data under its own PCI-DSS obligations. We never store full card numbers.
- Infrastructure and support tooling providers — hosting, email delivery and the helpdesk system — each bound by a written data processing agreement.
- Authorities, where we are legally compelled. We ask for the legal basis, we do not volunteer more than is demanded, and we tell you unless we are prohibited from doing so.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not pass member directory entries to recruiters, advertisers or data brokers.
7. How long we keep things
- Account records: for as long as the account is open, then twelve months after closure so that a reopened account is not lost.
- Order and payment records: seven years, to meet US tax and accounting obligations.
- Profile and provisioning records: for the life of the profile plus twenty-four months, which covers reissue and dispute windows.
- Identity verification material: only as long as the relevant market's rule requires, then deleted.
- Support correspondence: twenty-four months from the last message in the thread.
- Aggregated website analytics: twenty-six months, and not linked back to an individual account.
8. Your rights
Wherever you live, you may ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. You may object to processing based on legitimate interests, ask us to restrict processing while a dispute is resolved, and request a portable copy of the information you gave us.
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, those rights arise under the GDPR and UK GDPR respectively, and you may complain to your national supervisory authority. If you are a resident of Illinois, California or another US state with a comprehensive privacy statute, you have equivalent rights of access, correction, deletion and appeal under that statute, and you will not be treated differently for exercising them.
Write to support@digitalroamink.com with “Data request” in the subject line. We will verify that the request comes from you, and respond within thirty days, or tell you why we need longer.
9. International transfers
Running connectivity across borders means personal data crosses them too. Where information moves from the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom to the United States or to a partner network elsewhere, we rely on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, the UK International Data Transfer Addendum, or an applicable adequacy decision, together with technical measures such as encryption in transit and at rest.
10. Security
Traffic to this site is encrypted with TLS. Passwords are stored as salted hashes, never in readable form. Access to production systems is limited to the people who need it, protected by multi-factor authentication and logged. Backups are encrypted and tested. No system is perfect; if a breach ever affects your personal information and is likely to result in a risk to your rights, we will notify you and the relevant authority within the time limits the law sets.
11. Children
The service is intended for adults. We do not knowingly sell plans to, or hold accounts for, anyone under 18. If you believe a child has given us personal information, write to us and we will delete it.
12. Changes and how to contact us
When this policy changes materially we will update the date at the top and, for account holders, send an email before the change takes effect. Minor clarifications are made without notice, but the previous version remains available on request.
Questions, complaints and data requests all go to support@digitalroamink.com, or by post to Digital Roam Ink LLC, 2200 Lakeshore Drive, Suite 150, Chicago, IL 60614, United States.
