Terms and Conditions
These terms govern the purchase and use of Digital Roam Ink eSIM data plans and membership of the Digital Roam Ink community. Please read them before buying — particularly the sections on coverage, validity and refunds.

1. Who these terms bind
The agreement is between you and Digital Roam Ink LLC, an Illinois limited liability company with its office at 2200 Lakeshore Drive, Suite 150, Chicago, IL 60614, United States. By placing an order, installing a profile we issue, or joining the member community, you accept these terms. If you are ordering on behalf of a company, you confirm you are authorised to bind it, and “you” means that company.
2. What the service is
We are a reseller of mobile data. We issue eSIM profiles that are downloaded from an SM-DP+ server to the embedded UICC in your device and then attach to partner mobile networks in the markets covered by your plan. We do not own or operate those networks.
All plans are data-only. A profile does not carry a local telephone number, cannot make circuit-switched voice calls and cannot send or receive SMS. It therefore cannot be used to receive one-time passcodes from banks or other services that send them by text message.
3. Eligibility and device requirements
You must be at least 18 years old. Your device must contain an embedded UICC and must not be locked to another carrier. Whether a particular handset supports eSIM, and whether it is unlocked, is your responsibility to check before purchase; the method for checking is published on this site and takes a couple of minutes. We cannot unlock a device on your behalf, and a device that will not accept a profile because it is carrier-locked is not a fault in our service.
Some markets require identity verification before a prepaid profile may carry traffic. Where that applies, it is stated on the plan page. If you decline to complete a legally required check, we cannot activate the profile in that market and clause 9 applies.
4. Orders, prices and payment
Prices are shown in the app and at checkout, in the currency indicated, and include any taxes stated at that point. A contract is formed when we send you an order confirmation and issue the activation code, not when you place the order. We may decline an order where we suspect fraud, where a market has become unavailable to us, or where a pricing error is obvious.
Payment is taken at the time of order by our payment processor. We store a token rather than your card number.
5. Validity, data allowances and top-ups
Each plan has a data allowance and a validity window. Unless the plan page says otherwise, the validity window begins when the profile first attaches to a partner network, not when you buy it — so installing early does not cost you days. When either the allowance or the window is exhausted, data stops. Nothing continues at a higher rate and no additional charge appears on your card.
Top-ups add data to the existing profile. Whether a top-up also extends the validity window depends on the plan and the market, and is stated on each plan page. Unused data does not roll over after a plan expires and is not refundable.
6. Coverage and performance
Coverage lists describe the markets in which a plan is intended to work and the partner networks we expect it to attach to. Actual availability, signal strength, supported LTE and 5G bands and achievable speed depend on the partner network, your handset, your location and network load at the time. We do not guarantee any particular data rate, latency or continuity of service, and we do not publish speed figures.
Partner agreements change. We may add, remove or substitute partner networks in a market. Where a change materially reduces coverage on a plan you already hold, we will tell you and offer either a replacement plan or a pro-rata refund of the unused portion.
7. Acceptable use
Plans are sold for personal or business use by the person or organisation that bought them. You must not resell the connectivity, use it for permanent fixed-line replacement, operate machine-to-machine or bulk SIM-farm activity on it, or use it for anything unlawful in the country where the traffic originates.
Tethering is permitted on most plans. Where a partner network restricts or throttles hotspot traffic in a particular market, that restriction is noted on the plan page. Sustained use that is inconsistent with normal personal or small-team use may lead us to contact you, and in serious cases to suspend the profile under clause 11.
8. Community membership
Membership gives access to chapter channels, meetups, partner coworking rates and the member directory. Directory entries are opt-in field by field; you decide what is visible and to whom, and you may remove your entry at any time.
Members are expected to behave decently: no harassment, no recruitment spam, no scraping or exporting of the directory, and no publishing of another member's details outside the community. Coworking partner rates are personal to you and cannot be transferred. Breach of these rules may lead to removal from the community without refund of any membership fee, and in serious cases to a report to the relevant authorities.
9. Cancellation and refunds
An unused, un-activated plan may be cancelled for a full refund within fourteen days of purchase. Once a profile has attached to a network the plan is in use and, because the underlying wholesale capacity is consumed, it is refundable only in the circumstances below.
- The profile cannot be activated because of a fault on our side or on a partner network: full refund or replacement, at your choice.
- A market becomes unavailable during your validity window: pro-rata refund of the unused portion.
- Activation is impossible because a legally required identity check cannot be completed through no fault of your own: full refund.
- Activation fails because the device is carrier-locked or has no embedded UICC: no refund, as this is checkable before purchase.
Refunds are made to the original payment method, normally within ten business days of us agreeing them.
10. Liability
We provide the service with reasonable skill and care. We are liable for foreseeable loss caused by our breach of these terms, up to the total amount you paid us in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim.
We are not liable for loss of profit, loss of business, loss of data, or missed opportunities arising from an interruption to connectivity, nor for the acts or omissions of partner networks beyond our reasonable control. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.
11. Suspension and termination
We may suspend a profile or an account immediately where we reasonably suspect fraud, abuse of clause 7, or a legal requirement to do so, and we will tell you why unless prohibited. You may close your account at any time; closing it does not automatically refund plans already in use.
12. Governing law and changes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, United States, and the state and federal courts sitting in Cook County, Illinois have exclusive jurisdiction — except that if you are a consumer resident in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you keep the benefit of any mandatory consumer protections of your home country and may bring proceedings there.
We may change these terms to reflect changes in law, in partner agreements or in the service itself. Account holders will be told by email at least thirty days before a material change takes effect, and may close their account and claim a pro-rata refund of unused plans if they do not accept it.
Questions about these terms go to support@digitalroamink.com.
